About Mesa Boogie Amps
Mesa Boogie amps were the original boutique amplifiers, long before ‘boutique amp manufacturers’ were a thing!
Founded by Randall Smith in late 60s California, Mesa Boogie started out life hot-rodding Fender Amps. The engineering he innovated in this time would soon become his own Mesa Boogie Mark 1, the world’s first high gain amplifier. He developed an additional gain stage in the preamp, now referred to as ‘cascading’ gain. This has been the basis of Boogie’s signature smooth gain sound ever since.
Over the next couple of decades, Boogie kept pushing how much gain an amplifier could create. Finally, the Dual Rectifier was released in the early 90s. This amp became the basis of hard rock and metal in the 90s after being used by Metallica, Tool and Dream Theatre.
If you are a versatile player who needs many sounds - from sparkling cleans, chunky rhythms to soaring leads - look no further than the Mark V Series. It’s flagship 90 Watt amp packs in nine preamps and three power amps into one unit. This extraordinary amp can do it all.
