STRANDBERG/BOSS V-BDN

When two innovative and future-forward companies collaborate on a new instrument, you can be certain that the results will dazzle. So it is with the new V-BDN, a pioneering new guitar, available in extremely limited numbers, from visionary guitar maker Ola Strandberg and guitar technology giants Boss. There are only EVER going to be 80 of these made (with only 28 coming into Europe) and we have managed to secure 20 of them! As one of only a handful of Strandberg dealers worldwide, we are extremely excited to bring this incredibly powerful guitar to you! But what makes it so unique? The quick answer is: lots of things! For the longer more worthwhile answer, read on…

This genre-defying instrument is a further progression of Strandberg’s own game-changing Boden guitar. The Boden is an ultra-ergonomic, ultra-lightweight headless guitar that has redefined comfort and playability for guitarists. The Enduroneck is a first for guitar building: the unique shape of the Roasted Maple neck keeps your hand in an optimal position all the way up to the nosebleed territory, allowing you to play more comfortably for longer. This Enduroneck is topped with an Ebony fanned fretboard, allowing for true temperament at every point on the neck and even tension from low to high strings. The ergonomic Basswood Body has a stunningly oceanic-looking quilted maple top finished in a mesmerising shade of blue. The hardware includes a pair of Lace Alumitone humbuckers, a Roland GK-3 hexaphonic pickup and a custom made aluminium bridge. Even if you weren’t to go any further, this is an exceptional re-rendering of the electric guitar.

But this V-BDN does go further: BOSS grab the baton here and set off sprinting towards the horizon with some of their best performance-enhancing hardware to make this guitar truly different. With just four control knobs, one status LED and a 5 way blade, you can coax a veritable symphony from this one instrument: synths, bass, acoustic guitars and a sitar are some of the options available with in the touch of a few controls!

Manipulating the Mode knob takes you from the Lace pickups (with straight humbucker and coil-split options) though to modelled single coil & humbucker sounds, to a Hybrid mode which contains electric bass, octave guitar, a Sitar and both nylon & steel strung acoustic tones! THEN, turning the Mode knob a final time, you get access to the synth sounds: a string sound, an organ and three tones taken from the classic GR-300: octave down lead, octave up lead and standard pitch lead.

But that’s not all! You also have alternate tunings at your command: 6 tunings in total including Standard tuning. You have a half-step down, a whole step down, Drop D, Drop C and Drop C# all available to choose between at the drop of a hat! This is done virtually so no string tension is compromised.

All of this incredible technology requires only 4x AA batteries inside the guitar to run on: if you use good quality rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, you can enjoy up to nine hours’ playing! The LED on front gives you battery life status to keep you from having nasty mid-song surprises! And if you do happen to run out of battery power, you can revert to the regular top quality Strandberg sounds without any hitches. This is a guitar that will unquestionably expand your playing and composing horizons: you may find after playing it that a ‘normal’ electric guitar is simply not enough any more!

Remember, there are and only ever will be 80 of these magnificent creatures produced and we will have 20 available: please act fast to secure yours before it’s too late!
